This is a remainder from a pre-Civil War broken bank, Canal Bank in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is printed on thin hard paper and dates to the 1850s. It has a Haxby catalog numbers LA-105-G36a. It is a beautiful note and features several lovely vignettes with a distinct reddish-brown back. There are fine creases in the paper, but these appear to be as made during the printing press process, judging by the ink design on the creases. It has some areas of discoloration but probably still would grade as Crisp Uncirculated.
