This is an antique porcelain tea cup made by Minton of England in their seaweed branch or seaweed fibre pattern. The cup is 2" tall with a diameter of 3 1/8" (55 x 80 mm). It is blue and white with gold trim. This pattern was in production 1873 – 1891, but some websites also report it discontinued in 1878. It has no cracks, chips or repairs. It does have some gold worn off along the rim, and inside the bowl are some under glaze brown specks and blue paint dots typical in pieces like this. It has the pattern number g1702 written in red ink on the base. If you need a replacement for this cup, you know this is a hard to find and collectible Mintons pattern.
