Marble King Marbles

Marble King Inc. (1949-present) started when it bought out Alley Agate. The original plant was destroyed in 1958, and certain types of marbles were discontinued after the mid 1960s. Their most collectible marbles are their patch and ribbon variety known as "Rainbows", a patch and ribbon marble. Those of two non-white colors are most valued and have been given names such as "Spiderman", "Green Hornets" and "Watermelons" by collectors. Some of the rarer combinations are worth hundreds of dollars. Marble King still makes Rainbows, but after the 1960s, the New Rainbows had only a single ribbon around the equator, giving the appearance of two polar patches.
