We are offering for sale this antique Flow Blue historical plate of President Theodore Roosevelt made by Wedgwood. It was made in 1904. It measures 9 1/8" in diameter and features Theodore Roosevelt surrounded by a floral border. It's in very good condition, with no chips or cracks, but it does have overall crazing, most noticeable on the white back of the plate. It has a glossy finish, with no scratches or gouges. There is is a tiny bump and depression along the edge(magnified view with penny), and these appear as made. The back is imprinted "Wedgwood", and it has other marks of the company.
The back reads "Theodore Roosevelt: The welfare of each of us is dependent fundamentally upon the welfare of all of us, and therefore in public life that man is the best representative of each of us who seeks to do good to each by doing good to all; to represent all true and honest men of all sections and all classes, and to work for their interests by working for our common country. From the address at State Fair, Syracuse, N.Y September 7, 1903. "
The picture of the plate that is bright blue was taken with a flash; the other with ambient incandencent light. The real color is somewhere in between these two.
