This is a Clearvue chrome coin bank made for the Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank by Earl Service for Banks with the original box. The top plate has the name and address of the Worcester, Massachusetts bank, along with a bank number. The bottom reads, NEW MODEL CLEARVUE BANK Owners Of Clearvue Registering Bank, Original Patent No. 1703994, Other Patents Pending. In the center it says EARL SERVICE FOR BANKS, MELROSE, MASS. U.S.A. Made of Chase Brass. The front has slots for quarters, dimes, nickels and halves and the back has a slot for bills.

The Bank is in overall fine working condition. There is a little loss of chrome on the back edges, and light wear, but overall it has no problems. The inside of the box is scuffed. The key is not original, and looks to be a handmade replacement made from an Eagle Lock key. The replacement key works fine. These banks actually have a simple lock mechanism opened by a universal stamped key, but the split key design with two pins was meant to be difficult for kids to break into.

Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank existed from 1854 to 1971. The Worcester Five Cents Savings Bank was built at 316 Main Street in 1891. The patent for this coin container was filed for in 1927 Donald Earl of Melrose, Massachusetts, and the patent was issued March 5, 1929.
