Book Form Vintage Match Box, with Fine Wood Inlay Handmade

The small, handmade matchbox is about 1 3/4" inches across, 2 1/2 inches tall, and about 9/16 inch thick. It is in the form a book with a painted swallow on one side, and fine detailed inlay on the other. The blotches of paint seem intentional, and perhaps part of the design wore off. It is unusual, in that both the top and bottom opens, so you can either put in loose matches, or possibly the small cardboard inner box of the matches. The outer page edge of the book is the striking surface.
