This box with four Shiny Brite lantern-like ornaments probably dates back to the late 1960s or very early 1970s before the Shiny Brite Company went out of business. They are quite attractive, have a sugar glass coating, and atypical coloring. They definitely have a more 60's or 70's coloration and the later lantern form as compared to their earlier lines. They are reminiscent in color of some Hot Wheels cars of the period. As shown, two of the ornaments are missing from the box, but maybe you have a couple to add yourself. In the 1960s, Shiny Brite's production of ornaments were tiny compared to their 1940s and 1950s production because of foreign competition and other reasons, and some of the 1960s and 70s variations are actually harder to find than those in earlier decades. Manufactured by Max Eckardt & Sons New NY 10010 Div Eckmar Corp. As noted on the box, they are of the finest quality glass and are American made. Eckmar Corp. filed for bankruptcy in June 1974.
