This is a lot of used Japan postage stamps from the 1920's and 30's. Included is an empress Jingo stamp (SC #189?), and a couple of imperforate sun and dragonfly stamps. They were clipped from an old stamp album. In only 3 are the backs visible. Only one stamp (14 Sen) looks damaged (corner), the others a fine used or better.

Empress consort Jingo ruled as a regent following her husband's murder in 200 AD. After seeking revenge on the people who murdered her husband, she then turned her attention to a "promised land", which included the invasion of the Korean Peninsula. This idea was also used as justification for imperial expansion during the Meiji period. Some historians regard her as a legendary figure, or an amalgam of other historical figures, rather than a real individual.

The stamps will be shipped as a first class letter.
