This Toby jug or Toby mug was made by the Thorley Company of the UK. It is hand inscribed on the base "Thorley Bone China Made in England Sairey Gamp." It measures approximately 3.25" tall and features the Charles Dickens Character Mrs. Sarah Gamp. Mrs. Gamp is the alcoholic midwife from the comic novel The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit. This is one of the harder ot find Tobey jugs made by the Thorley Company. It has no chips, cracks, or crazing, and will be a nice addition to your collection.
