Woods Burslem Pink Colonial 12 in. Oval Serving Platter Wood Son

This pink transferware dinner plate was made by Woods, Burslem, England in the Colonial Pink pattern. It is also sometimes listed under the name Wood & Sons as the company changed its name but continued the pattern. It shows a pastoral scene of a river, gristmill, and farm cottage. This plate measures about 12" across by 9" tall. This is the heavy weight version of the pattern.

The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. When you look at the surface reflection, it is nice and glossy, but there are a few faint utensil marks. There are a few small vent dimples in the glaze and tiny specks, but nothing noticeable. The back has the normal kiln rest marks and a few stray color marks and dark smudges.
