This is a Takumar-A Zoom 28-80mm f3.5-4.5 with Macro setting and a Pentax K mount (KA), made between 1984 and 1988. It has an 8-blade aperture and takes a 58 mm filter and a minimum f stop of 32. The optics consists of 8 elements in 8 groups. Its dimensions are 69 x 89 mm, and it weighs 451 grams. It is in very good condition with no fungus, haze, scratches, or damage. This Japanese-made manual focus zoom lens is similar to its PENTAX-A series counterpart except it has a macro mode with a closer focal distance. The photos below show focus over the 28-80 range, which has a minimum focus distance of 1 meter, however, when you turn past 80 to the line near the word macro, a lens assembly bumps up and the minimum focus distance drops to 24 cm, and a magnification of 0.25x. With 34mm of extension tubes, and the magnification jumps to 0.69 with a decent 11cm working distance and superb sharpness as shown by the photos. It has beautiful round Bokeh balls, and purple sun flaring. The focal throw is about 90 degrees. The lens has good sharpness and handling. The zoom tension is a little loose, so it has a little zoom creep when you point the camera straight down. It comes with the push-on Takumar plastic cap, and a back PK end cap.
