This is a nice manual focus lens from the 1990s. It has six multicoated elements in five groups and weighs 5.8 oz. (165g). It has half stop clicks between F/2.8 and F/16, a 49mm filter thread, and about a 165 degree throw. Close focus is at 1.4 ft or 0.45 m. It has an all-metal body with a rubber focus gasket and a plastic aperture ring. This lens is generally considered to have a neutral color balance, no distortion, and sharp at all apertures.
The fast maximum F/1.7 aperture full frame lens is great for low light conditions and shallow depth of field art photography. The sample images of the cyclamen were taken with the lens adapted to an EOS APSC DSLR camera. Minolta lenses adapted to DSLRs become macro lenses, and this 50mm has a great working distance of 11 inches with excellent resolution.
This example is in excellent condition, with no scratches, fungus, or haze, and only a few specs of dust inside. No caps included.
