Hot Wheels Redline 1968 Blue MCLAREN M6A

Hot Wheels brand die cast toy cars were introduced by American toymaker Mattel on September 7, 1968. This 1968 Blue MCLAREN M6A was one of their first releases. As noted on the base, it was made in Hong Kong. This car, like all their cars until 1977, had redline wheels. This example is in played in condition with nicks and scuffs on the paint. The back hood opens, but there must be a tiny piece of metal missing on one hinge because you can lift it up on one side slightly. Despite the flaws, this car displays well and is one of the increasingly harder-to-find first issue Hot Wheels cars.
