1890 NY Militia Staff Uniform Button Excelsior 7/8" Antique Collectible

This coat uniform button was produced for the New York state militia. It features an eagle with the New York state shield on her chest, and "EXCELSIOR" written below. This style was used between 1870 and 1890, and the unmarked turret style back suggests a production during the latter part of that range. The device is listed as Albert NY28 and Tice NY218. The excellent has wear but nice toning, and some of the gold gilt still present. It has a spot of verdigris along the edge.
