Wedgwood Kings Chapel Boston Souvenir Plate 1897 Transferware

This is a collectible Wedgwood souvenir plate of the Kings Chapel in Boston, MA. Various markings including Wedgwood Etruria England, copyright 1897 and seal mark imported by McDuffee and Stratton. The plate has no cracks, chips, or repairs, but has very fine overall crazing evident on the base. It is about 9 1/4 inches in diameter.

This blue transferware was is of typical quality for the late 19th century flow blue type souvenir plates popular in the day, and has occasional or stray blue smudges. It has an unglazed flake off the back and a couple of black soot marks under the glaze on the reverse.

This is among the harder to find 19th Century Wedgwood souvenir plates of Boston.
