This is an old blue and white delft tile, probably from the mid twentieth century. It features a coastal landscape with a tower and other buildings, a bridge, ducks and boats in the water. The background is an off-white grayish-blue tint rather than bright white. It is similar to another tile we list, but was painted by a different artist. Based on the back mark, which shows crossed T's in a circle with crown, it was made by by Royal Tichelaar Makkum, a dutch ceramic company, one of the oldest ceramic companies in the Netherlands. The mark also has the number 2 and letters "FH". It features a coastal landscape with buildings, a bridge and ducks and boats in the water. It is the standard size of 13 cm or a bit over 5 inches and has no marks. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. It would be a nice accent piece in a wall or mantle, or even as just a great looking trivet.
