This novelty was probably made in the 1970s at the 503d US Army Base in Hanau, Germany. It has the AVN battalion's motto "Vision, support and succor" Instead of being labeled a wooden nickel, it is labeled a wooden D-Mark (Deutschmark). It is "Good for one free helicopter ride or tank destroyed". The UH-1 to OH-58 refers to the various attack helicopters in the unit. It appears to be made of a pressed wood, and is somewhat soiled, but it is unlikely few of these have survived, and it is a nice souvenir of the unit.
