The Minnesota Twins are in the American League Central division, and named after the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The franchise was founded in 1901 as the Washington Senators. and relocated to Minnesota in 1961. The franchise won the World Series in 1924 as the Senators, and in 1987 and 1991 as the Twins.
