The Cleveland Indians are in the American League Central division. The franchise originated in 1894 as the minor league team Grand Rapids Rustlers, went through name changes, eventually becoming a founding member of the American League in 1901 as the Cleveland Bluebirds. After additional name changes the franchise settled on the name Cleveland Indians in 1915. Chief Wahoo was on the teams caps from 1986 to 2019.
