Coalport China manufactures very fine porcelain dinnerware and artistic pieces. Coalport China was established in 1750 by Squire Brown of Shropshire began producing wares using clay and coal from his estate. As early as 1800 Coalport dinner services were selling for fantastic prices, and the company produced services for Royalty of Europe. In 1926 Coalport moved from Shropshire to Stoke-on-Trent. In 1967 it became a member of the Wedgwood Group.
