This is a small celluloid doll marked "Edi Germany". He stands 3 inches tall (almost 8 cm). It was made by the Erich Dittmann Company of Bad Godesberg Mehlem, Germany. The company produced a line of small celluloid plastic dolls called Edi Puppen (Edi-puppets) between 1948 bis 1960. The dolls were typically sold in costume, but this one has lost his clothes. This doll, just marked Germany, was probably produced about 1948 or 49. These dolls are sometimes mistaken as being from the 1930s.The doll's arms and legs move and is in generally good condition. One finger is pointing up on his right hand. I can't tell if the other hand is closed or missing digits. The doll could be cleaned up a bit.
