This antique clay pipe was made by McDougalls of Glasgow, Scotland. It is Marked "McDOUGALL" on one side and "SCOTLAND" on the other, the letters T and D on the bowl, and the model number 325 on the stem. It is 6 1/4 inches long (16 cm). The mouthpiece is stained, but the bowl is not charred or stained. It is undamaged except a little chipping on the mouthpiece. McDougall's was in business from 1848 to 1967. Pipes after 1891 are marked Scotland. A reference on historic clay pipes (Sudbury) suggests that the placement of design numbers on the pipes stopped around 1910 with the number 400.
