1879 dated Pressed Glass Bread Tray, English Registry Mark

This is an 1879 dated bread plate, made in England. It is embellished, "Give us this day our daily bread" and has sheaves of wheat in the center. It has the English Registry May, and the scheme of codes precisely dates this design to June 4, 1879.

Antique glass plates with the early English Registry are getting very hard to find, and it is nice finding one on this very early bread plate. This plate is nearly 12 inches across from handle to handle.

The plate has no chips, cracks, or repairs. It has wear on the bottom consistent with its nearly 130 year old age. This is a nice piece if you collect antique English glass or bread plates.
