Like many department store chains, Sears sold major brand cameras under their own name. The KS Super is a K mount camera that is actually a very decent re-branded Ricoh XR-6, but with minor differences. The camera has an elegant black design, with a solid weight and feel. The viewfinder has a micro prism ring with a diagonal split image focusing ring and a meter system consisting of led lights, with a plus sign (+) and minus sign (-), for over and under exposure. Shutter exposure choices are L (lock/off), A (aperture priority; 1 second to 1/500th of a second shutter speeds), X (flash sync), and B (bulb). The third contact on the hot shoe are is to accommodate dedicated flashes (like the Sears #8025 flash or equivalent), that enables the camera to be kept on the aperture priority ‘A’ setting, and still allow triggering of the flash when needed. Regular flashes work when the camera is on the "X" setting. The ASA dial goes from 12 to 3200 (pull up to set), and includes an exposure compensation (+2 to -2 in 1/3 stops). The KS Super will not work without batteries, and as noted in the manual (found online), it takes a common CR-1/3N 3V lithium battery, but also works with two S76, LR-44, or equivalent 1.5 V batteries. This example is in fine condition and appears to have been hardly used. It does not include any batteries, but it was tested with a battery and the camera works fine, operating the shutter and the exposure meter in the viewfinder. Overall, this is a nice vintage, easy-to-use vintage SLR film camera, well worth the money. Comes with the original manual shown.
