This is an antique souvenir plate of Prospect Point at Niagara Falls. It was made by the factory, Victoria of Austria. The plate and mark probably dates to about 1900-1910, but could be a little earlier or later. The porcelain plate is nine inches in diameter and has a pierced lace edge design. It is undamaged, with no cracks, chips or repairs. It does however have wear and loss of design, and loss of the orange paint in the pierced area, and loss of gold paint along the rim. The base has little nicks on the rest, but these might just as well be how it came from the factory.
This was made as a tourist souvenir piece at Prospect Point, New York. The design appears to be a transfer process, with perhaps some hand painted highlights. The design itself is quite nice, and shows a view of the falls as to how it looked a century ago before the tower and the loss and diversion of flow.
