Hawaiian Trigger Fish Humuhumu bowl /walldsp by Ben Diller, Maui

This is a nice Hawaiian Trigger Fish Humuhumunukunukuapua'a bowl produced by Ben Diller, a pottery artist on the Island of Maui. Its size is about 12.5 by 7.5 inches. The Bowl was sold as a soup bowl, but also has piercing in the back to allow it to be easily hung on a wall. It is signed, titled, and dated 1999. This species, Rhinecanthus rectangulus, is the unofficial state fish of Hawaii. The HumuHumu bowl is in good shape, with no cracks, chips, crazing, damage or repairs. It has a few little bumps under the glaze, typical of this type of pottery.
