Original 1918 World War I Poster, War Camp Community Service

This is an original 1918 World War One home morale poster called "Keep 'em smiling!" It was produced in support of the War Camp Community Service. The print has the artists signature and date ( M. Leone Bracker, 1918)The War Camp Community Service was a homefront organization established by the US government to raise money, provide hospitality support to active troops on leave, and to rally support for the military.

The poster is large, measuring 42 inches by 27 1/2 inches (the measure in the bottom photo is a 39 inch meter stick, not a yard stick). It has tears and light creases and wrinkles. There is a 11" tear into the blue design, but this is held in place with 3 pieces of transparent tape on the back. It is printed on a hard thin paper, not too different from a dense newsprint. Despite the damage, if properly mounted I don't think the tears would be too obvious. Original large format WWI posters like this are hard to come by, and it would be a nice addition to any antique poster or WWI collection. It will be lightly rolled and shipped in a 4.5 inch square tube box.
