Akro Agate Oxblood Marbles
Akro Agates were with a deep reddish brown colored glass, usually with fine black streaks are termed oxbloods, and are very collectible. The early varieties are mostly swirl or corkscrew varieties, but some later patches exist. Oxbloods in a clear with milky filament glass are called Silver Oxbloods. Some sellers try to sell any new reddish brown marble or swirl made by other manufacturers as oxblood marbles at auction, but these are easy to spot once you have seen real Akro oxblood. Some early manufactures attempted to make their own version of oxblood, and some of these marbles have value in their own right.
