This is an antique amber glass apothecary or medicine bottle that would have had a cork stopper top. The base is marked PD & Co 567. The mark indicates the bottle was made by the Parke Davis Pharmaceutical Company, and the 567 is the mold number. The 567 mold appears uncommon. This bottle was blown in a two-part mold and has a hand tooled top as indicated by the fact that the mouth is somewhat irregular and the seam extends only to the shoulder. Parke Davis started in 1871, and this blown in mold bottle was probably made between 1890 and 1905. The bottle is in very good condition. The tooled mouth was flattened by pressing on a surface and has some pits and imperfections, including one on the edge that might be mistaken for a tiny chip. The bottle stands a bit over 4.25 inches tall. It displays well and has gradients of color.
