This aqua colored bottle stands 5 /12 inches tall and is embossed Johnson's American Anodyne Liniment. It has an embossed 14 on the base, and was blown in a two part mold, with a tooled mouth, and the seam ending on the shoulder, and not on the neck.

Abner Johnson introduced his American Anodyne Liniment in 1810. It was made from morphine, extract of hyoscyamus, alcohol and other ingredients. It was advertised to treat coughs, colds, grippy cold, colic, asthmatic distress, bronchial colds, nasal catarrh, cholera morbus, cramps, diarrhea, bruises, common sore throat, burns and scalds, chaps and chafing, chilblains, frost bites, muscular rheumatism, soreness, sprains and strains.

This example is in fine condition, very clean, and nearly no stains inside. It has no chips, cracks, scratches, or other damage. The method of manufacture and design suggests the bottle was made between 1890 and 1905.
