This is a vintage manual focus Vivitar 28mm f2.8 wide angle close focus lens with a PK mount. It has the PK variant mount PK A/R, which was the mount with certain pins and contacts for auto functions on Ricoh cameras. It has a minimum focus distance of 23 cm or 9 inches, which is the distance to the film plane, but the working distance is closer to 7 inches. It takes 49mm filters, and has about a 160 degree throw. It adapts well to both Canon and Sony modern digital cameras. It does not have the cylindrical pins that can cause problems mounting on modern digital Pentax cameras

This example has excellent glass, with no scratches, haze, fungus, or separation in the elements. The aperture blades have no oil and move smoothly. There are a few scuffs on the body, and a few tiny specs of dust inside, but otherwise this is a very good lens. This was a popular third party lens manufactured for many years by several manufacturers and examples can vary in quality. This example is surprisingly sharp, as shown by the full frame and 100% crop of the one dollar bill, with the photo taken at the minimum lens focusing distance, f 5.6. The sharpness nearly matches a modern 18-55mm Canon kit lens. The lens comes with a rear cap and 49mm Hoya skylight filter, which has a few fine scratches.
