This American-made slide rule was sold by the Dietzgen Company of Chicago, IL. Eugene Dietzgen founded in the company 1885 and this circular slide rule was introduced in 1936 and sold through the 1970s. On one side of the rule is a single hand for conversions and on the other side is a two-dial device with the clever design where the short dial is turned first to the correct mark, then the large hand is turned, concurrently moving the shorter dial. This is a well-used example. It has some ink spots, the disk has a tiny bend at the edge, and the green pouch, while looking similar to other green leatherette Dietzgen pouches online, is stitched irregularly. The pouch also has ink stains, and the manual was stored folded in half, and strongly creased.
