Knickerbocker Toy Company of New York began in 1869, and ceased operations in 1983, when they were bought by Hasbro. The company did not produce dolls until about 1925. In the 1930s they entered in a license agreement with Disney, and today Knickerbocker is best known among collectors for the Disney character dolls they sold in the 1930s, including Snow White and the seven dwarves, as well as Raggedy Ann and Andy, and other comic characters from the same period. Hard plastic dolls like this were made by Knickerbocker after World War II (1945) and mostly through the 1950s.

This girl doll appears dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. She is better dressed than most, with a crocheted red cape, a red and white dress with snaps on the back, white bloomers, and a red petticoat, topped off with a red silk bow in the loop on the head. The doll was played with, and has light wear, but the hard plastic body is undamaged, as are the vinyl arms, which turn. The Knickerbocker name can be seen in raised letters on the back. She is looking for a good home.
