The golden rebel is arguably Peltier's most collectible National Line Rainbo marble. This example is 5/8 inch in diameter and features the Rebel's characteristic red and black bands on a golden yellow base glass instead of the typical white glass of most other NLRs. It has the usual air bubble dimples and a near mint surface, but unfortunately this specimen was had some use, and it has several blowholes, one large, and one very large . Blowholes occurred on many NLRs because these marbles often had large air bubbles close to the surface. Even banging of marbles during packaging could break these air bubbles and produce these blowholes. This example was probably played with a bit to break these areas. It has has a number of ticks, fleabites, and wear marks on the surface, but nothing too drastic. It is difficult to grade because of the blowholes, but the surface is generally nice, but it probably grades from VG to just below NM (7.8-8.0). Despite the slight use of the marble, it is still a rare and collectible marble worth owning, and more than just a placeholder. This is a 1920s or 30s marble.
