This is an envelope with an 1896 Boston Station T Barlow Machine Cancel. The envelope is unusually small at 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches. It was written from Mrs. Simon Klaus of 80 Moreland Street to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Partridge of Winthrop (note that a street address was often omitted in that era, and rural homes often lacked numbers). The postage stamp is a 2 cent Washington Bureau Issue (Type III), probably from the 1895 printing. A nice piece of Boston postal history. Will be shipped by eBay Standard Letter Service.
