Large Ruby Flashed Westmoreland Wakefield Waterford Compote 10in

This a great piece of ruby flashed glass made by the Westmoreland Company. It is a square-footed compote in a diamond point and thumbprint pattern known as the "Wakefield" pattern, but also called "Waterford."

It is a little over 10 inches across and about 5 1/4 i8nches tall. It has no chips, cracks or repairs. It has very light evidence of use, and you can find a few find a few small scratches in the ruby flash. There is also a dimple on the edge. As shown in the magnified photo, this is actually a tiny air bubble that shrunk when the glass cooled, leaving a dimple. It is a large striking and heavy piece of glass you will appreciate owning.
